Sexbomb Dancers with the Cebu Dancing Inmates

Having the Cebu dancing inmates, whose 2007 “Thriller” viral video turned them into YouTube sensations, do their take on a Sexbomb Girls original choreography is a dream come true for the all-girl dance troupe that’s also referred to as Sexbomb Dancers.

“Kaya thankful ako sa GMA-7 sa project na binigay nila sa akin,” Sexbomb manager Joy Cancio tells Manila Bulletin Entertainment Online.

She’s referring to the Sexbomb Girls’ recording of the Kapuso Network’s infomercial jingle, “Bilog na Hugis Itlog,” for its campaign to help educate the public about the automated elections in May.

The dancers and stars of GMA-7’s afternoon drama series, “Daisy Siete,” made a music video for “Bilog na Hugis Itlog,” whose main choreography was performed by the dancing inmates on Jan. 15 at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center.

Some members of the Sexbomb Girls jammed with the Cebu dancing inmates at the terpsichorean event that’s meant to launch the “Sayaw Galaw” automation dance contest aired on GMA Cebu’s morning show, “Buena Mano Balita.”

“Actually, GMA News sent them the ‘Bilog’ MTV by Sexbomb Girls,” Cancio relates. “When I rehearsed with them, perfect na ang sayaw and blocking. May konting adjustment lang kaya Sexbomb na lang ang nag-adjust kesa ang 1,500 inmates.

“Nagulat nga ako dahil sabay na sabay sila. At natuwa ako dahil dream kong masayaw nila ang sayaw ng Sexbomb nang makita ko sila sa ‘24 Oras’ two years ago. Dream come true ‘to.”

Aside from “Bilog,” Cebu’s inmates, whose synchronized dancing has earned them worldwide acclaim via the Internet, also danced to a medley of the Village People hits..
